When The Manifestation Surprises

When The Manifestation Surprises

“Tell me what it is you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” – Mary Oliver

When we set an intention or goal for the month or year ahead, we usually have a clear vision of how we want it to look when it has been achieved. I even facilitate a Yoga Nidra Meditation where you can visualize achieving your goal and all of the obstacles that were overcome to get there.

One of my 2020 goals was to write and publish a book. A slightly ambitious goal to accomplish when I hadn’t even started writing one!

Writing brought me great solace and comfort over the last 21 months and I have found it to be such a healing experience. I started blogging in July 2019 when I decided to hold myself accountable for the decision I had made to stop drinking alcohol. During this time, I also started to make notes for what I hoped might eventually turn into a book.

At the beginning of 2020 I got to work on writing my book. I came up with a title, then wrote my first chapter, which I sent around to my entire family for feedback! A few chapters in and the writing ground to a halt, as I got caught up in building my Coaching Practice.

Then during Covid-19 I had an opportunity to enter a Short Story Competition. At first, I thought about submitting the first chapter of my proposed book, but during one of my many Zoom calls with my Dad, he said why don’t I write about my cat, but from a cat’s point of view. Well once that idea was sparked, I was off! I didn’t win but the story received a special mention for originality on the Awards Night.

As I have mentioned in a previous blog, the story was going to be published. And it was, in November 2020. My goal of writing and publishing was accomplished, just not in the way I had initially imagined, but in a way that I couldn’t be happier about!

Another manifestation surprise that occurred was a dream of hosting a Podcast, which started as my dear friend Melanie and I decided to put our regular chats about personal and spiritual growth out to the world to hear. I got quite excited and started to come up with a few ideas, whilst hunting for microphones.

For some reason the idea went away and I forgot about it, until a couple of weeks ago when I was approached to be a guest on an App Show that is something akin to a live Podcast! Chai is a “video free Meet-up, for you to browse. Like Zoom, minus the work”. What the Universe had in store for me was certainly a surprise, especially when, after my guest slot, I was asked to host my own show!

When we plant the seeds of intention to manifest our goals, dreams or desires, we are putting out a signal to ourselves (and the Universe) that this is what we want to achieve. Then the work starts to make them happen, but it helps to be aware that plans can change along the way, as new challenges or opportunities present themselves.

As long as we keep our determination focused on what we want to manifest in our lives, and adapt to however and whenever the goal, dream or desire decides to show up in our lives, we can manifest anything we want to!
